Sonisphere Announcement!
By Lee MacBride on Feb 20, 2012 | In News
Sonisphere have broken their silence and made their first announcement. The festival is going to be headlined by Kiss, Faith No More and Queen. Whilst other bands added onto the line-up include Swedish occult rockers Ghost, Marilyn Manson, the mighty Mastodon (performing 'The Hunter' in full!) and Gojira.
Also appearing on the bill are Fields Of The Nephilim, Katatonia, I Killed The Prom Queen, Refused, Tim Minchin, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Andrew W.K. and many more.
Sonisphere is set to take place at Knebworth from July 6-8. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday February 23.
Now, here's five metal covers of Queen!
Nine Inch Nails - Get Down Make Love
Clearly not content with fucking like an animal, Trent Reznor wants to get down and make love as well. The filthy bugger.
Bad News - Bohemian Rhapsody
Bad news folks. No, really it's Bad News, you know the ones, Vim Fuego and co. We're a bit jealous of their stage set actually, we don't think Queen will be able to pull off that huge skull at Knebworth though.
Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy
This was Queen's only (surprisingly) attempt at Speed Metal, and it's not too shabby. But, add 'Tallica to the mix and it gets a royal kick up the arse. It even got the industry's seal of approval, as it won a Grammy. Mental!
Blind Guardian - Spread Your Wings
Queen songs were always pretty epic, but let's be fair, no one gets more epic than Blind fucking Guardian! Back in 1996, BG took Brian May's riffs to the next (symphonic) level.
Lemmy - Tie Your Mother Down
For Queen, Tie Your Mother Down was a bit tongue in cheek and somewhat suggestive, with Lemmy it's an instruction! You don't question it, you just get some rope and ask how he likes his knots.
