On the eve of their UK jaunt with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Mastodon, hairy riff beasts Red Fang update Terrorizer with latest event from the European tarmac. This tour heads to Manchester tonight! Now, over to Aaron.
"Well, it turns out that not every moment of every tour is pure joy and fulfillment. Aside from the long drives and the cramped backstage areas, etc. (I am not actually complaining - I would much rather be doing this than working a 9-5, believe me!), sometimes sharing microphones with the more putrid elements of society leads to: TERRIBLE ILLNESSES. I have been so sick for the past week, I can barely focus on my computer screen, let alone remember what I have been doing. It has taken most of my energy every day just to make it through our 45-60 minute set. Pretty pathetic. Anyway, here is what I do remember...
I caught up with some old friends (Marco, Jan, Sabine, Robin - hi guys! Miss you already!), played to some amazing crowds, and met some great new people. But I only managed to take one photo, and here it is:
Yep, that's the inside of my disgusting mouth 2 days into this sickness that seems like it may last forever. For the squeamish, sorry if I did not give you ample warning.
The one moment that peeks through the haze of whatever horrible disease has stricken me was when we were playing a show in Zurich I think it was, and I heard these stick clicks coming from behind John. I was like, "What the...?" then when we started into "Malverde," the lights changed and I could see Brent from Mastodon sitting at Brann's drums. He was playing drums along with us! He was there for at least two songs, maybe more. I was cracking up so much, I almost missed a couple changes in the song. That Brent - such a rascal...."
