This week, bassist Aaron Beam from riff mongrels Red Fang bring you the latest from the tarmac on their Euro tour with Mastodon. Enjoy!
24/25-Jan-2012 Barcelona / Toulouse
"After finishing our show we had a few hours to explore the dark twisting alleyways of the old gothic section of Barcelona with a couple expatriate friends of ours. Fucking amazing. I can't tell you too much about it (too many free beers!), but seeing a wall with the year "805" stamped on it puts some perspective on things.
I stayed up way too late catching up on some Skype with the wife and kid, but forced myself out of bed early to go check out La Segrada Familia. I have wanted to see this thing since I went through my Gaudi obsession 20 years ago. I don't know if it was the extreme hangover or the dust from the ongoing construction, but something made my eyes look like they were all watery. I'm probably just allergic to transcendent works of sublime architecture.
