Since their formation in 2007 the Ipswich thrashers have gigged across the UK with the likes of Forbidden, Wolf, Accept and Evile as well as releasing three EPs and a couple of albums. Having spent plenty of time in the studio, the band are ready to hit the road once again and give the UK a taste of Elimination. Terrorizer spoke to guitarist Dave Spicer to find out more... Oh and we also EXCLUSIVELY bring you their spanking new video!
How did Elimination get together?
"We got together around June 2007 with Neil [Stevens, vocals] and Daz [Abbott, guitars] knowing each other through the metal scene in Ipswich. I found the guys through an ad for a guitar player on the Internet."
Who do you take influence from?
"The influences really vary from member to member, ask Jus [Smith, bass] and he'll most likely say Cathedral, and Daz will no doubt scream 'MEGADETH!!!', for me personally I take a lot of influence at the moment from bands like Primordial, Amon Amarth, and Grand Magus."
What do you have planned for 2012?
"The big focus for 2012 is all on getting the band out in the live arena, after spending 7/8 months writing and recording we feel like there's a lot to show the UK and European crowds!"
Any new music on the horizon?
"Not from us just yet! We'll probably start throwing around new ideas while touring and gigging this year, but I think the real writing for the new album will start towards the end of the year."
How would you describe the UK thrash scene in 2012?
"The whole thrash and old school metal scene is in such great shape at the moment. We've got a new album from Savage Messiah which is great, and so many underground bands breaking through like Shrapnel, Desolator, and Kemakil. There's some great stuff coming from the US too, the new Skeletonwitch album is absolutely phenomenal, and there's new bands like Huntress who are doing really cool things!"
Elimination are also heading out onto the road with Welsh metal crew Triaxis.
