Doom metal legends Paradise Lost are preparing to hit the studio next month to record the follow-up to 2009’s stellar ‘Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us’.
The quintet will record the as-yet-untitled album at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, with vocalist Nick Holmes recording his vocals in Sweden with Amon Amarth/Opeth producer Jens Borgen. Wrapping up the writing process, guitarist Gregor Mackintosh said:
“It’s going well, it’s probably more melodic and a bit more varied than the last album; I’m doing quite a few acoustic passages and stuff.”
While ‘Faith…’ was recorded at Fascination Street Studios in Orebro Sweden, Greg added it was PL who wanted to stay on UK soil this time around.

“We are all refused to go back to Sweden as it’s too remote. I think Nick is going to Sweden but we wanted to do the recording in the UK. We almost literally went insane last time!”
Expect the release in Spring 2012.
Meanwhile check out Gregor’s new project Vallenfyre – it smacks an almighty punch!
