BAND OF THE DAY: SABBATH ASSEMBLY

Not a band as much as a musical project, if there's one thing that is on constant rotation on my iPod right now (between Ghost and Cauchemar) it's 'Restored To One' (out on July 12th on Ajna Offensive) a modern remake of the hymns of a new age cult known as The Process Church of the Final Judgment.
The Process Church was an apocalyptic shadow to the flower-powered '60s that reconciled Christ and Satan through deeper awareness and love (so says their official blurb). Sounds like a bunch of hippy shit, yeah? Well you're not wrong, but if you dig The Devil's Blood and, of course, Jex Thoth, who feature on this album, then you'll understand how this ties in with the world of extreme music in 2010. And let's not forget the links between The Process Church and the Satanic underground of the '60s, which led the cult to be link to the Manson Family (which pissed the founders off no end...)
Need another reason to get lured into this record? 'Restored To One' was produced by none other than Randall Dunn, who worked with Sunn O))), Earth and Boris and also Boredums drum leader Dave Nuss.
Before you judge that it's 'not metulz' give this a spin, it's utterly mesmerising and I for one want to get myself a german shepherd and go giving out flowers at airports, with my Process patch (thanks Dwid!) pinned onto my black cloak.
